Accelerate Oracle HR, October 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, we hope you are looking forward to a much-deserved break. Thank you to everyone who has contributed your time and talent to this project. Your willingness to collaborate and adapt as we have faced the challenges resulting from back-to-back hurricanes has positioned us to return in the new year ready for the home stretch of Project Drive. And special thanks to the Change Ambassadors who work at the nexus of the project team and your respective units. Your service has proven invaluable, and we appreciate everything you have done.

As always, the Project Drive website provides additional details and resources if you want to learn more after reading this edition of Accelerate. Enjoy your winter break!

Big Updates

  • In-person training sessions begin in the new year and focus on the most critical and impactful changes affecting the university. Self-guided training sessions will address additional changes.
  • Oracle HR will include a live organizational chart feature with an easy-to-use visual interface. This feature will enable everyone to explore our university’s team structure easily. It will be ready at launch and will be updated daily.
  • Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) development continues. This contextual help system is deeply integrated into Oracle HR, ensuring that you receive personalized, relevant guidance whenever you request it, ensuring a pleasant and efficient Oracle HR experience.
  • Remember that Oracle HR will no longer launch in three separate waves. All features and functions will launch at once in March. If you have questions or concerns, please visit the FAQ page on our website.

Learning Environment

There’s always more to learn, and Oracle HR will provide several tools to help individuals and teams expand their knowledge and hone their skills. At launch, the learning environment will include:

  • LinkedIn Learning: Experience various expert-led video courses designed to enhance professional and personal skills.
  • USF job-specific skills: Learn how to perform critical tasks associated with your job responsibilities, both as new and continuing employees.
  • Social Learning: Collaborate with colleagues through discussion forums, receiving and providing peer feedback.

Preparing Testers

When we return, the project team will contact a pre-selected group of employees to test the new system. Testing is an essential part of the process, as it helps the project team expect the unexpected, resulting in a more reliable and consistent experience.

For those testing Oracle HR before launch, the project team asks you to complete essential learning before testing begins. Testing is most effective when users have a solid understanding of the environment. Our team is excited to expand testing and greatly appreciates the help our testers will provide. Look for email announcements when we return from winter break.
