Counseling Center

The college years are a time of profound change, and for many, they bring unexpected challenges. A student may experience the loss of a loved one, pressure to succeed academically or a feeling of isolation. The USF Counseling Center team understands that a student's mental well-being is the bedrock of their academic success.

The Counseling Center provides mental health support services on campus and in partnership with virtual platforms to serve thousands of students each year. Their efforts to expand programming, enhance embedded counseling in the colleges and launch a post-graduate fellowship training program demonstrate a commitment to reach more students where they are.

Counselors meet between sessions.
Paper cranes display warm, positive messages at the entrance.

The team's impact is significant, with 95% of surveyed students reporting overall satisfaction with their counseling experience. In fact, a large majority of students who used individual counseling reported improvement. Conversations are accessible and confidential. And it’s easy for employees to refer students. Like the counselors say, they would “rather help a student out of a small hole than a large hole.”

These Bold Bulls work relentlessly to improve every life they touch. Thank you to everyone at the Counseling Center for their dedication to the well-being and success of the USF community. Learn more about the USF Counseling Center.

Deck the halls safely

Lights, tinsel and holiday cheer make everything brighter, but don’t let them start a fire! Environmental Health & Safety reminds us that at home and at work, check cords for frays, keep power strips solo and unplug lights when you leave. A few simple steps now will help keep your season merry, bright and safe for all Bulls. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Vehicle purchasing procedure

USF has implemented a new vehicle purchasing procedure to guide departments through a structured six-phase process from initial inquiry to final procurement. Experts will assess your needs and reduce the administrative work associated with vehicle purchases. This procedure will also drive standardization of our road vehicle and golf cart fleets, enhance safety and align with university standards. Learn more.

Student Green Energy Fund

Faculty and staff are encouraged to turn their green ideas, big or small, into project proposals to help our campuses lower energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy technologies. The fund supports various projects, such as installing more electric vehicle charging stations, replacing Magnolia Field’s lights with LEDs to save energy and creating a sustainable organic seed library for students to utilize and to enhance existing community gardens. Learn how to prepare and submit a proposal.
